The complete strip out of existing space previously used as offices and the creation of a new POCU ward. The project involved the creation of 35 new rooms. The new space provides pre-theatre patient prep rooms, staff kitchen, consultants rooms, exam rooms, toilets, drug storage rooms and shower facilities. The ward has a state of the art nurse call system installed which is controlled by a central unit with activators in each room. Our joinery workshop created two desks for the nurses stations. All works were carried out whilst the hospital remained operational. The project also involved the installation of air handling units on the roof of the hospital adjacent to the helicopter landing pad. Very strong health and safety measures were adopted throughout this project to ensure that the staff, patients and visitors were not disrupted.
